At the sound of the bell.................

Don Fraser's career in the sport of boxing didn't start off with such a stellar beginning. He had 5 amateur fights and lost every single one. But he had a love for the sport that gave him the passion to find other ways of expressing that love. If his spot in the "sweet science" wasn't to be inside the square circle, then he'd use his talents outside the ring to massage that passion.

Don became editor of "KO Magazine",
Public Relations Director of the Hollywood
Legion Stadium, the Los Angeles Olympic
Auditorium and the Inglewood Forum.
He was also the Director of boxing at the
Inglewood Forum,  Executive Officer
for the California Athletic Commission,
Head Boxing Promoter for the Olympic
Auditorium and promoter for the Irvine
Marriott Hotel.  Don was president of the
Golden State Boxer's Association.

The California Referee's Association
awarded Don Fraser the "Dick Young"
Award.  He has also been inducted
into both the "World Boxing Hall of Fame"
and the "International Boxing Hall of Fame".

Don is best remembered for putting on
great ring battles at the Forum: Norton-Ali II,
Chacon-Olivares, Chacon-Arguello,
Olivares-Arguello, Zarate-Zamora,
Naples-Lopez and Lopez-O;Grady.
Don retired in 1992, following seven
successful years at the Irvine Marriott
Hotel.

Currently, Don is President of "California Boxing Hall of Fame" and a very important asset to our GSBA's Tuesday meetings at the Dunes Restaurant, 5625 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles.   Please join us!

The love and passion Don had for the
sport of boxing so many years go is
alive and well to this day and its wonderful
to get to share in the knowledge, celebrity
and wisdom that is Don Fraser!
